This plugin is the bridge between your WordPress site and your Personyze account. It puts the Personyze tag on every page, feeds your posts and products into the platform, and lets you reuse your existing WordPress templates inside Personyze campaigns.
What the plugin does
- One-click tracker install — activate the plugin and the Personyze tag is on every page. No theme edits, no code.
- Content recommendations — your WordPress sitemap is converted into an article catalog feed, so Personyze can recommend your posts.
- WooCommerce product sync — your products are synced automatically, with add-to-cart and purchase tracking.
- WordPress shortcode blocks — build targeted content in Personyze using your own site templates, including page builder shortcodes.
- Dynamic variables — insert visitor fields such as city, industry, or company directly into your WordPress content.
What you can build with it
Once your content is connected, campaigns are built in the Personyze panel: recommendation widgets, banners and pop-ups, dynamic landing pages, social proof, behavioral targeting, and A/B tests. Personyze offers 70+ targeting rules and 300+ AI recommendation algorithms.

Installation
Setup has three parts: create an application password in WordPress, connect Personyze to your site, then install the plugin.
1. Create an application password in WordPress
- Go to Users > Profile > Application Passwords.
- Create a new application password named
Personyzeand copy it.
This grants API access only, and you can revoke it at any time without changing your account password.
2. Connect Personyze to your site
- In the Personyze panel, go to Settings > Integrations and find WordPress.
- Click Configure and enter your site root URL, a WordPress username with access to your content, and the application password from step 1.
- Turn on the features you want: content recommendations, product recommendations (WooCommerce), add-to-cart tracking, and purchase tracking.
- Save, then test the connection from the Maintenance section.
3. Install the plugin
- In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add Plugins and search for Personyze.
- Install and activate it.
- Clear your WordPress cache.
Verify it worked
- Your catalog appears under Settings > Recommendations in the Personyze panel.
- Visits and events appear in Live visits.

Do I need a Personyze account?

Does it work with WooCommerce?

Yes. Products are synced into Personyze automatically, and add-to-cart and purchase events are tracked, so you can run product recommendations.

Why does setup use an application password instead of an API key?

Application passwords are the standard WordPress way to grant API access. Personyze uses one to read your content, and you can revoke it at any time without affecting your login. Application passwords require WordPress 5.6 or later.

Can I use my own templates in Personyze campaigns?

Yes. Personyze actions accept WordPress shortcodes, so you can render your existing templates, including page builder templates, inside a campaign.

Do I need to edit my theme?

No. Activating the plugin places the Personyze tag on every page.
